Trichromatic color vision

Since we humans have a trichromatic color vision, we can see almost all the colors in the rainbow. Sunlight looks white, but it's composed of many different colors of light including all of the "rainbow" shades- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Materials like water refract that light and allow it to separate into distinct wavelengths.

There are many myths surrounding rainbows. The Rainbow Serpent is the pre-eminent creator god in Indigenous Australian mythology, and is one of the oldest continuing religious beliefs in the world. When a rainbow is seen in the sky, it is supposed to be the Rainbow Serpent traveling from one waterhole to another. The Rainbow Serpent is the considered the regenerative and reproductive power in nature and human beings.

There are countless colors of emotions inside all of us. There is so much beauty, teachings, creation and art in the rainbowpalette of our minds, but also deep suffering. The depths and the heights seem inevitable part of the human experience. Regenerating and building us up, again and again. Finding equanimity is advocated by a number of major religions and ancient philosophies. Balance, eveness of the mind and spirit. I wish to grow and learn equanimity, for my roots and tree to grow in true balance. All I can do is start from where I am and find open acceptance that's not a deterrent to action in the ever-changing nature of life.

"Sadness gives depth. Happiness gives height. Sadness gives roots. Happiness gives branches. Happiness is like a tree going into the sky, and sadness is like the roots going down into the womb of the earth. Both are needed, and the higher a tree goes, the deeper it goes, simultaneously. The bigger the tree, the bigger will be its roots. In fact, it is always in proportion. That's its balance."
